Decy,
I'm hoping the deal goes thorough but it's looking less and less like that's going to happen.

Thanks for reading my blog, really,
Jeb

This is probably one the biggest deal in the VoIP industry, Gizmo provide unlimited call plans to skype user which non other competitor like Truphone, Vopium, Jajah or fring can offer at this time. Skype once start looking on decline phase but this deal will totally change the story.

Why would Skype's buying Gizmo5 result in Skype going SIP over their proprietary protocols?

Gizmo5 had unlimited calling plans to Skype users, but i do not see that anymore. They have something better now, however: integration with Google Voice. As well we really tight integration with Nokia handsets.

Gizmo's problem has always been an unwillingness to aggressively market and build a userbase. A shame, since they have a client for many, many platforms.
